Alienate (2016) – Horror, Sci Fi
Some guy in a car trying to find his wife in an alien Invasion.
That is the jist of the movie and let’s keep it at that. Oh the front of the DVD that you see does not happen in the movie.
The movie annoyed me somewhat because of the pace and the atrocious foam alien suits and alien guns that look like a WII u controller was modified. If you have nothing to do and you really like alien invasion movies, maybe this is a movie for you. But if you are not a Die hard Sci Fi Alien Invasion kind of type then I would just let it be.
My Score: (2 / 10)
BreadCrumbs (2011) – Horror, Slasher
A Director, his crew and Adult Porn Stars go into a cabin in some weird woods. No this is not the beginning of a extremely bad joke but it is the premise of a extremely bad slasher movie. The “effects” are horrendous, acting is sub par and the script sucks. No amount of naked boobies can save this movie.
My Score: (2 / 10)
Conspiracy Encounters (2016) – Sci Fi?
Holy S*** where do I start? So the premise is that in 1997 strange lights where seen somewhere in Phoenix and some dude appears after that. He gives some “good advice” and in the end nothing has happened in the whole movie, seriously 2 hours long and in the end nothing and I mean NOTHING.
Some Director/Writers should stop trying to make an artsy fartsy movie or think they have a great script. Make a fun movie, that is the most important thing, don’t try to be different if the idea has been done before you and even better. The acting is atrocious and the story has so many plot holes that the state of Nevada could sink in it completely. The “special” effects where just as good as Revenge of the Killer Tomatoes (ok, ok, better – it looked like a 90’s home movie), and in the end I was almost pissed off how bad it was.
My Score: (1 / 10)
Kill or Be Killed – Thriller, Mystery, Western
This movie is no The Burrowers or The Bone Tomahawk but it did it’s job quite well. An old outlaw wants to retire and he and his posse decide to do one last run. All kind of things happen and some mysterious deaths occur.
Kill or Be Killed was very messy with to many side stories in it, but acting is at times quite good. It has a higher budget feel and the effects are good.
I enjoyed this movie, I would not watch it any time soon.
My Score: (4 / 10)
She Demons (1958) – Horror, Old School
Keep in mind this is an old movie and the standards where different in those days.
So a boat with some people sinks and 4 people survive. A Asian tech guy, a Caribbean ships mate, a blonde femme fatale and a wise ass square jawed American.
Apparently they where looking for the same island they strand on, strangely enough. People are looking for them but a other boat sinks as well and they assumed that was their boat and they stopped looking for them (I Kid you not).
On the island everything is fine and the whole lot except for the Ships mate go exploring, when they come back he is dead. Well that is the premise. There are women that look like paper mache has been stuck to their faces (She Demons), a Crazy German Doctor, Nazi’s and as many racial stereotypes you can think off while reading this. The most perculiar thing is the Male Lead that after hearing people talk knows everything about everything. Things like, the volcano is thermic, and the guy oh yes thermic is the term for ………, a bit weird.
Even though it is not the best movie ever, it is entertaining. Mostly because of it’s weirdness.
My Score: (3 / 10)
Ratter (2015) – Thriller, Found Footage?
So a girl moves to New York near by her college, she has an ex boyfriend who is an a**hole. She meets a new guy and falls in love. Meanwhile all her WiFi devices are being tapped by some mysterious hacker.
Scenes full with her dancing, doing goofy stuff and every day life. Her mobile phone camera is on all the time so you do get scenes outside her apartment (inside her laptop camera is hacked). It goes from bad to worse and it ends meh. Acting is ok, story is very predictable. Some scenes are far to long.
My Score: (4 / 10)
Terminus (2015) – Sci Fi
The world is in chaos, war in the middle east is taking a lot of lives and jobs are at it lowest ever. Suddenly a “meteorite” crashes on earth and a drunk mechanic has a crash nearby. He wakes up while he should be dead, he even healed old injuries.
I liked this movie, the premise is done a few times before but they executed it quite well in Terminus. Acting seemed to be quite decent and the grittiness of the movie was nice to watch. It had a post apocalyptic feel to me. Would I watch it again? Probably not, if you have seen the movie, you know the story and the clou is gone.
